Frequently asked questions

Do I need to take time off work to attend lectures?

No. All lectures are delivered live online via our learning platform, typically twice a week between 6 pm and 9 pm UK time. The program is specifically designed for working professionals, allowing you to achieve your degree without take time out of your working day to attend  or travel to a physical campus.

Are there any exams as part of the degree? No!

There are no exams for any of the courses. Assessment is based on industry-relevant assignments, and we provide dedicated workshops to support you in completing these successfully.

 

Is the degree an officially recognised level 6 qualification?

Yes. The BSc (Hons) Construction and the Built Environment program is validated by RA University London (RAUL). This means that while Francis James creates and delivers the curriculum, learners  receive a recognised UK degree award from RAUL upon successful completion

Can I join the program if I already have an HNC or HND?

 Absolutely. While many learners join for the full degree, we offer direct entry points for those with prior qualifications. If you have a relevant Pearson Construction HNC (or other Level 4 equivalent), you may apply to join at Level 5 ; those with a Pearson Construction HND (or Level 5 equivalent) can apply for direct entry into the Level 6 honours year.

What kind of support will I receive during my studies?

Every learner is allocated a dedicated Programme Support Officer who serves as a consistent point of contact for advice and guidance throughout the entire time with Francis James. Combined with access to academic support from expert lecturers and specific workshops about study skills and assignments.

How much are the fees and is funding available?

The programme fee is £9,000 per level of study (Levels 4, 5, and 6), which includes a £1,500 refundable enrolment deposit per level due upon application. The total cost for a 3 -year BSc (Hons) degree is £27,000.
Please note that student finance through the Student Loans Company is not currently available , and all fees are payable directly to Francis James Ltd.
